Gotum Buddha

Gautama Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, was a spiritual leader and founder of Buddhism, one of the world’s major religions. Born around 563 BCE in Lumbini, present-day Nepal, Siddhartha was the son of a king and led a sheltered, luxurious life. Despite his royal upbringing, he became deeply troubled by the suffering he observed in the world.

At the age of 29, Siddhartha left his palace and family to seek answers to the problems of human suffering. After years of rigorous ascetic practices, he realized that extreme self-denial was not the path to enlightenment. Instead, he followed a “Middle Way” between indulgence and austerity. Under a Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, India, he attained enlightenment after meditating for 49 days, becoming the Buddha, or “the Enlightened One.”

Buddha spent the rest of his life teaching the principles of Buddhism, including the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, which guide followers in overcoming suffering and achieving Nirvana, a state of ultimate peace and liberation. His teachings emphasized compassion, mindfulness, and ethical living.

Gautama Buddha passed away at the age of 80 in Kushinagar, India, leaving a profound legacy that continues to influence millions around the world.
